“Nummer sieben is now a stat and I have the medal and shirt as proof. It was a great day generally. The swim had a great atmosphere and I don’t think the ride could be beaten for numbers of supporters which was well over 100,000. Macca rode past and said ‘g’day’. He was flying. Maybe my words of encouragement got him under 8hrs.

The time was ok. I locked onto Coaches orders to take it easy and did this from the 20km run sign. I recall the plan was to take it easy so I can train tomorrow. Not sure if I can do that as I am still in a world of hurt and had a couple of solid spews on the run.

Holiday kicks in 100% now. We are off to Zurich then Venice via Austria. Three weeks to recover now.
